Last evening Whitemarsh Township’s Planning Commission voted 6-0 to deny a text amendment to its zoning code that would allow for an apartment community to be built at 451 Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington.
The decision by the Planning Commission is only a recommendation. The developer, an LTD formed by Harth Builders and Altman Management, can decide to seek a hearing before Whitemarsh’s Board of Supervisors without the endorsement of the Planning Commission. The Board of Supervisors is not required to hold the hearing.
