Whitemarsh Township Receives State Grant to Make Improvements to Miles Park

State Rep. Mary Jo Daley, D-Montgomery, announced yesterday that the state is providing Whitemarsh Township with a $196,000 grant to make improvements to Miles Park. The grant will fund new field equipment, dugouts, fences and bases, constructing a rain garden and installing a paved walkway and disability access ramp connecting the park to Joshua Road.

“Whitemarsh Township takes great pride in our park and recreational facilities and we are very grateful to the Commonwealth and DCNR for being selected as a recipient of The Miles Park Improvement Grant,” said Amy P. Grossman, chair, Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors. “This grant will not only improve stormwater issues and improve safety, but most proudly, it will improve ADA accessibility at Miles Park so residents and all park users can continue to enjoy this regional signature park and its many programs and special events for years to come.”

The DCNR is the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
