SEPTA’s Fiscal Year 2020 – Capital Budget Fiscal Years 2020 – 2031 Capital Program Proposal includes two items in Conshohocken. Both are something that MoreThanTheCurve.com has reported on before, a new train station and an effort to improve parking for the station.

Conshohocken Station

In support of PennDOT’s I-76 Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) Program, this project provides for design and construction of a new fully ADA accessible station, and station access improvements at Conshohocken Station on the Manayunk/Norristown Regional Rail Line. This station will receive new full length high-level platforms; new passenger shelters; accessible pathways, sidewalks and handrails/guardrails; bike facilities; additional roadway access to the station; new signage and lighting; stormwater management systems and landscaping. A separate project will provide expanded parking at the station.

During a recent Zoning Hearing involving a proposed apartment community, the property the developer revealed that SEPTA was considering acquiring the property outlined in red for a parking lot. The area in yellow is where the new train would be constructed.

Conshohocken Station Parking

In support of PennDOT’s I-76 Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) Program, this project provides for design and construction of additional parking at Conshohocken Station including property acquisition. SEPTA is currently evaluating opportunities for providing additional parking such as construction of a surface lot and/or structured parking. SEPTA anticipates receiving a total of $10 million in Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Flex funds to support this project.
