Last evening the administration of the Colonial School District made a presentation for the Colonial School Board and other viewers the proposed plan for reopening schools for the fall. You can watch the video below.
The proposed plan includes two options. First, there is a hybrid model, which has students split into two groups with each attending classes in-school two days a week and receiving virtual instruction three days a week. The schedule would be one group attending school on Monday and Wednesday with the other group attending on Tuesday and Thursday. Virtual instruction will take place on days not in school (everyone is virtual on Friday).
The other option is 100% virtual instruction.
A third group, Special education students and those learning English will receive, will receive in-school instruction Monday through Thursday and virtually on Friday.
There are many other details outlined in the proposed plan specific to different grades and more general things as busing, after-school activities, etc.
The plan was not voted on during the Tuesday meeting. There is another meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 23rd with a vote planned. Note that the plan discussed in the video that was reviewed Tuesday may be revised prior to the Thursday meeting.
