At last night’s Borough Council meeting there was a discussion about the operating hours for the helipad. A representative from Kynetic proposed that the operating hours be 7:00 a.m., to midnight seven days a week. This proposal was based on the operating hours of the SEPTA train and the study that the helicopter generates less noise than the train passing through Conshy.
Members of council seemed fine with those hours during the week, but hesitant about those hours on weekends. There was a discussion on the hours you are allowed to mow grass on the weekends (it is 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday) and those hours seemed where Borough Council seemed to land. Kyentic is only permitted to have 12 flights a month and the representative stressed that very few will occur late at night.
Borough Council plans to vote on the hours on June 19th and review the hours at the end of the year.
