Earlier today we shared with you a report from 6ABC Action News on a stabbing of a teenager insider a home in Lafayette Hill. Below is a press release issued by the Whitemarsh Police Department that provides an update to the story:
On Thursday July 9, 2015 at approximately 1:56 PM Montgomery County Police Radio 911 received a call from a 15 year-old juvenile female advising that she had a stab wound to her leg. Whitemarsh Township Police responded to a single family home in the 100 block of Chinaberry Drive, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444 as the caller was speaking with County Radio Dispatchers.
Information provided by the juvenile caller was that she was stabbed in the leg by a male subject that appeared in the house and then fled into the basement. Responding Officers approached the home and found no sign of forced entry and no unsecured doors into or out of the residence.
At the direction of the officers positioned outside the home the juvenile made her way to the front door to unlock it so that the Officers could enter and render first aid. The juvenile had a small kitchen knife impaled into her right leg just below the knee. Whitemarsh Ambulance responded to the scene and subsequently transported the patient to Temple University Hospital.
Patrol Officers and the Whitemarsh Police K9 team checked the interior of the home and adjacent neighborhood. At this point physical findings at the scene are inconsistent with the account of the incident provided initially by the juvenile.
Whitemarsh Police Investigators are with the juvenile at the E.R. working to obtain more information on this incident and will provide follow up reports as it becomes available.
