Due to an accident this morning, a second portion of Butler Pike, this one between Blue Ridge Road and Germantown Pike, is currently closed. If you are heading from Ridge Pike towards Germantown Pike, Blue Ridge Road is just beyond the Harmonville Fire Company.
According to the Whitemarsh Township Police Department, PECO has shared that this closure will last into the overnight hours. Since August, the portion of Butler Pike between Germantown Pike and Plymouth/Flourtown Roads has been closed due to a sink hole. That portion is closed for the foreseeable future.
Here is the original post made by the police department and then a follow-up comment sharing the length of the closure:
And the comment under this Facebook post:
We are aware that it has been closed since 11:30. We were under the belief that it would be reopened before school let out and the afternoon rush began. PECO did not notify us of the extended closure until just before we posted this information. The closure will last for another 10-12 hours.
