The Montgomery County Planning Commission and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation have announced a public meeting to provide information on the Lafayette Street Extension Project, which will greatly change the intersection of Conshohocken Road and Ridge Pike. The meeting will be held on February 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at Colonial Middle School. Below is the text from the press release:
The Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will hold a public meeting on February 23, 2015 for the next construction section of the Lafayette Street Extension Project. The meeting will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Colonial Middle School, 716 Belvoir Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
The next construction phase of the project involves widening and improvements to existing Ridge Pike, Conshohocken Road, Diamond Avenue, Fairfield Road, and Lucetta Street in Plymouth Township. Meeting participants will have an opportunity to view the scope of the planned construction and anticipated construction schedule and to speak with project team members.
The Lafayette Street Extension Project will significantly improve access to Norristown and its Main Street and riverfront as well as Plymouth Township’s Ridge Pike and Conshohocken Road corridors, providing a transportation framework that will spur economic development.
