Pennsylvania American Water has started construction to replace a third of a mile of water main in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township), to improve reliability for customers, reduce service disruptions, and increase water flows for firefighting. This $1 million project will replace 1,500 feet of aging 6-inch cast iron pipe that was installed in the 1950s with new 8-inch ductile iron pipe.
Crews will work weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Traffic restrictions will be in place during construction on Fairfield Road between Lucetta Street and Park Road. The water main work is expected to be completed by the end of July and the road restoration to be scheduled for late fall 2023.
During construction, customers might experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water, and/or lower than normal water pressure. For more information, contact Pennsylvania American Water’s customer service center at 1-800-565-7292.
