Last week the Congressman that represents all but one ward of Conshohocken, Joe Sestak, officially announced that he would challenge Arlen Specter in the Democratic primary for US Senate.
Congressman Jim Gerlach, who represents the one ward not in Sestak’s district, announced that he will run in the Republican primary for Governor.
Former US Attorney Pat Meehan, who has been rumored to be considering running for every prominent office in Pennsylvania, is said to now be considering a run for Sestak’s seat in Congress.
It looks like Conshohocken’s representatives in Washington are about to change.
Spampinato’s, the spot occupied by Viggianno’s for 10 years and now being taken over by next door neighbor Spamps, is supposed to open sometime between today and August 17 as reported by the Insider. Late update…received an email from Marci Spampinato and she is 99% sure that they will open Thursday, August 13th.
The seventh seeded PBR Philadelphia Fight, a rugby team that plays its home games in Conshohocken, will take on the second seeded New York Knights in the quarter final round of the 2009 AMNRL playoffs. The game will be played at the Castle, Pier 40, New York, NY at 7pm.
The Conshohocken Steelers defeated the Flemington Generals 17-14 this past weekend. Next up, the Steelers try to go 4-0 when they travel to face the Burlington Black Hawks.
