So Conshy was part of the Great East Coast Earthquake of 2011, but I guess it was more of a novelty then anything else. I happened to be sitting on the beach when it occurred and totally felt it. It was really surreal to be on the beach during an earthquake due to what happened a few months ago in Japan. When it stopped, everyone just kind of look around at one another and then out to the ocean. A few people left right away, but a vast majority continued on with their day.

So I had hoped to do this whole big story on the Conshy PD nabbing the bike thief that has been helping himself to bikes at the local apartment and condo communities in Conshy. One resident even put up a video of someone stealing a bike from his yard. The only problem was the video was of a white guy and the guy the police picked up a black guy that was spotted at the Grande. I had hoped to embed the video, however, the guy deleted it off his camera before I asked and its only available on Facebook (If I link to it and you are not his friend you won’t see it, so I am not linking to it). So anyway, the gist of the story is that there may be two bike thieves, so keep your bikes locked up.

Nut of the Week
Edwards-Freeman Nut Company has all types of nuts including Brazil Nuts. A few things about Brazil Nuts: Brazil nuts have about 2,500 times as much selenium as any other nut. Selenium is a powerful antioxidant which has been proven to protect against heart disease and cancers like prostate cancer; Brazil Nuts’ high selenium content also discourages the aging process and stimulates the immune system. In a study of patients with early Alzheimer?s disease, antioxidants – including selenium – boosted mood and mental performance. Like all nuts, Brazil Nuts are an excellent source of protein and fiber; and Brazil Nuts are high in minerals including zinc and magnesium, and contain useful amounts of phosphorous, copper and iron.
