The Borough of Conshohocken recently installed traffic calming devices on Fayette Street and East Elm Street.

On Fayette Street, the crosswalks across Fayette Street at 4th and 7th avenues, now have mast arms over the intersection with signage alerting vehicles to pedestrians. There are also signs as you approach the intersections. The intersections are some of the busier intersections without lights. There was a fatal accident involving a pedestrian at the 4th Avenue intersection in 2018.

Along East Elm Street there are new flashing signs that alert drivers that they are approaching a park. The signs flash “slow” and the image of a teeter-totter.

East Elm Street has long been a source of public complaints due to speeding and drivers ignoring stop signs. The park on East Elm Street was named in memory of Aubrey Collins, who was struck and killed while riding his bike on East Elm Street in 1989.
