Blake Ammons, 34, of the 1100 block of East Dunton Street, was charged with bank robbery, Conshohocken police said. Ammons was arraigned and is being held at Montgomery County Prison after failing to post $50,000 cash bail.

Ammons gave a bank teller a note demanding money at 4:45 p.m. Friday, that stated he had a gun, according to the criminal complaint. He was described by witnesses in the bank in the 300 block of Fayette Street as a white male, wearing a gray hat, sunglasses, black jacket, black scarf, blue shirt and blue jeans. He was last seen running out of the rear of the bank into a parking lot. An assistant bank manager said Ammons had gotten into a full-size gray van but could not give a direction of travel.

A description of Ammons and the van was broadcast to surrounding police departments after the incident.
