PennDOT has announced that beam repairs are scheduled from March 20th through early April on the Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) bridge over Matsonford Road in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships. The work will result in a weeknight road closure from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. between Hillside Avenue and the southbound Interstate 476 interchange.
During the closure, those traveling on Matsonford Road will be directed to use Route 320 (Montgomery Avenue/South Gulph Road/Trinity Lane/Holstein Road/ Swedeland Road) and Route 23 (Front Street).
In addition, Route 320 travelers will have ramp access to southbound I-476, while ramps to northbound I-476 and westbound I-76 will be accessed from Route 23 (Front Street).
Built in 1950, the I-76 one-span stringer bridge is 90 feet wide and carries approximately 76,216 vehicles per day.
