PennDOT has announced that there will be three intersections in Conshohocken with lane closures from Monday, April 1st to Friday, April 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The intersections involved are Fayette Street at 3rd Avenue, 9th Avenue, and 11th Avenues The reason is for the traffic signal installation.
PennDOT advises motorists to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.
From the press release:
As part of this project, crews are working to improve safety and traffic flow at 10 intersections along Fayette Street between Elm Street and 11th Avenue. The scope of work includes installing new signal controllers, mast arms, video detection, emergency pre-emption equipment, pedestrian signal heads, and push buttons; and building ADA curb ramps. The improvements will improve the efficiency of the signal operation, and maximize the green time allocation for each signal phase based upon actual traffic demand.
