David Uosikkinen, who is The Hooters’ drummer and a West Conshy resident, recently brought together a group of Philadelphia-connected musicians to record the Dead Milkmen song “Punk Rock Girl.” This recording session was part of Uosikkinen’s In The Pocket project, which records what Uosikkinen considers the essential Philadelphia songs. You can see all the songs recorded for this project by clicking here.
For this recording the musicians joining Uosikkinen were Richard Bush (The A’s) on lead vocals, Tommy Conwell (the Young Rumblers) on guitar, Pete Donnelly (Figgs / NRBQ / Shelby Lynne) on bass, William Wittman (Cyndi Lauper) on guitar, Rob Hyman (The Hooters) on melodica and Eric Bazilian (The Hooters) on hurdy-gurdy. The song and video were recorded and filmed at Studio 4, which is below The Great American Pub. The video was directed and edited by Steve Acito and Brent King at Bluewire Media BluewireMedia.com.
