Geocaching Event Along Riverfront on August 14th

Schuylkill River Towns Program is holding ConshyCache, a geo-caching event around Conshohocken’s riverfront, on Sunday, August 14th. The event will start at Southern Cross Kitchen at 5:30 p.m., plus end there for a happy hour.

What is geocaching? Geocaching.com states that “Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunt using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.”

You are encouraged to bring small items and trinkets to trade, in case the cache holds something you want to swap out. Trinkets could include collectible coins or patches, small toys or figurines, marbles, shells, and other items ideally smaller than two inches.

The event is limited to 16 players and participants must be 21 years old or older. The cost is $8.00 per person. Register by clicking here.

Wear walking shoes and load your smartphone with Handy GPS, a free app, or similar. A Conshy native and an Environmental Educator will guide the hunt.
