First look at proposed townhouse community at East Elm Street and Poplar Street in Conshohocken

During a meeting of Conshohocken’s Borough Council on September 2nd Craft Custom Homes made a presentation regarding a proposed townhouse community at 261-263 East Elm Street. This is the property across East Elm Street from Pepperoncini.

This was an initial presentation to introduce the project and solicit feedback. The developer has not yet initiated the approval process.

We watched the meeting over video, so it was kind of hard to follow and get all the details.

Looking from Washington Street up Poplar Street to the proposed community.

The community would consist of 21, two-bedroom, units. One thing that was discussed was the possibility of utilizing scissor lifts to increase the number of cars that could be parked on the property. If you aren’t familiar with scissor lifts for parking, you can see how it works here.

The property includes what was once a train station (you can see elements of this inside Prime Intensity Training). The developer plans to incorporate these features into the plan for the community.

A representative of the developer stated that the proposed development would need to seek zoning relief from the Zoning Hearing Board and then a conditional use approval (for height) from Borough Council.

More to come.
