A Conshohocken resident, Joy Nelson, has plead not guilty to charges stemming from an incident in her role as a teacher at the St. Francis Early Learning Center in Norristown. From the Pottstown Mercury:
Joy Lesley Nelson, 30, of the 100 block of East Hector Street, waived her arraignment in county court and pleaded not guilty to charges of endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment in connection with the alleged April 12, 2018, incident at the St. Francis Early Learning Center in Norristown.
Nelson, who remains free on bail pending trial, faces a pretrial conference on the charges next month before county Judge Thomas C. Branca.
If convicted of the charges at trial, Nelson faces a possible maximum sentence of 6-to-12-years in prison.
The Mercury reports that the police affidavit alleges that video footage shows Nelson dragging and shoving multiple children. You can read the entire article here.
