The Daily Local reported today that Conshohocken native Russhon Phillips was arrested in Chester Country on July 20th after an investigation, including control buys, involving prescription Oxycodone. He also was charged for a stolen weapon found in his home. From The Daily Local:

Two men who borough police say were part of an illegal drug trafficking operation that involved the sale of prescription Oxycodone have been arrested and are in Chester County Prison awaiting court proceedings next month.

The pair, Russhon R. Phillips and Dominic B. Toney, are former members of the West Chester University Gold Rams football team, according to a university spokeswoman. They are not included on this year’s roster for the squad, which began practices last Thursday, about three weeks after their arrest.

Phillips, a graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Montgomery County who also had played football at Lehigh University, was on the football roster in 2014. He was on the original 2016 roster but is no longer listed, spokeswoman Loretta MacAlpine, said Friday.

This is not Phillips first run in with the law. While a student at Lehigh in 2013 he was convicted of assaulting another student and sentenced to one to two months of jail.
