An Internet crimes investigation dating back to 2014 led detectives to a home in Conshohocken (in Whitemarsh Township) this month that has resulted in an admission of possessing child pornography. From the Times Herald:
A Conshohocken man potentially faces jail time after he admitted to possessing child pornography on his cell phone and computer tablet.
Matthew Donald Benson, 24, of the 1800 block of Butler Pike, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court on Friday to felony charges of possessing child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility in connection with incidents that occurred between October 2014 and February 2015. Judge Thomas P. Rogers deferred sentencing so that court officials can complete a background investigative report about Benson.
Benson also must undergo a psychosexual evaluation prior to sentencing, the judge said.
Benson faces a possible maximum sentence of seven to 14 years in prison on the charges. However, state sentencing guidelines would allow for less jail time.
