The Conshohocken Historical Society (CHS) is searching for yearbooks from past and present local high schools (West Conshohocken High, Conshohocken High, Plymouth Whitemarsh High, St Matthews High, and Archbishop Kennedy High) in order to digitally preserve the contents of these yearbooks. In particular the society is searching for the “Holy Grails” of local yearbooks namely any yearbook from West Conshohocken High. This school was in existence for 65 years before closing its doors in 1947. However, despite these many years of existence the society currently has only one West Conshohocken High School yearbook in its possession.
So with that in mind, the society is looking to borrow the “Holy Grails” (or any other yearbook from any of the local High Schools) from anyone who may have a copy of a local High School yearbook. All yearbooks will not be harmed during the digitation process and will be returned to their original owner in their original condition. The society is currently targeting to begin this process in middle to late January.
Following are the yearbooks the society currently seeks:
- West Conshohocken High School
- The society currently has only the 1941 yearbook in their collection. They are looking for any other year. The school was closed in 1947 and merged into Conshohocken High School.
