Recently we have been trying to be more active on Instagram. On December 11th we posted a photo of the historical marker for the Continental Army’s journey through Conshohocken in 1777 as it left the Battle of Whitemarsh to winter in Valley Forge. The army crossed the Schuylkill River at what was then known as “Matson’s Ford” near today’s bridge between Conshohocken and West Conshohocken.
The Instagram handle @klw128 responded with the comment:
With all the traffic and road closures, it once again takes 2 days to get from Whitemarsh to Valley Forge 🙄
The comment smartly ties together history, current events and just enough snark to make its point. Thus its our Comment of the Year!
