Borough of Conshohocken Moves to Amend its Open Container Ordinance

A few months ago the Borough of Conshohocken realized that its ordinance for open containers was in conflict with the cafe license that allows restaurants to offer alcohol to its customers dining at a sidewalk table. The amended ordinance will bring the cafe licenses into compliance and allow for events on public property to seek the Borough’s approval to allow for the attendees to consume alcoholic beverages (think the Conshohocken Beer Festival at the A Field or while walking down Fayette Street during the car show). The current ordinance was adopted in 1984.

Borough Council will vote on the amended ordinance at its August 17th meeting. The meeting is as 7:00 p.m. at Borough Hall at West 4th and Fayette.
