Last night we received some reports of a fire on Hector Street at Bar Lucca. What we eventually learned was that there was an issue with a power line catching fire, not the restaurant itself. The building was evacuated and there were no injuries or damage to the restaurant.
When we last spoke to Bar Lucca’s owner Brian Pieri last night he was waiting for PECO to replace the wire. He promised to update Bar Lucca’s Facebook page when the repair was complete and he could reopen. He expected to be reopened for lunch today, but check the Facebook page to be sure.
As you may remember, Pieri’s first restaurant, The StoneRose, did have a kitchen fire in June of 2011 that closed the restaurant for several months.
