We have spoken with a couple additional people regarding the burst pipe at the corner of East First Avenue and Fayette. The story is a pipe burst in an upstairs apartment and flooded Jimmy John’s. According to the people we spoke with, Jimmy John’s will need to be gutted and rebuilt. The restaurant has an “occupancy prohibited” sign on the door and health inspectors from Montgomery County were on the scene when we stopped by. The door leading up to the apartment has a “occupancy prohibited” sign (pictured) as well.
You may have also heard that El Limon also has an “occupancy prohibited” sign on its door, which it does, but this is not due to water damage. The power to the entire building was cut, so basically El Limon is closed until the power is restored.
