During last night’s meeting of Conshohocken’s Borough Council there was a discussion about a new wall being constructed around A. A. Garthwaite Stadium on East 11th Avenue. In this year’s budget there is $350,000 budgeted for the wall.

The discussion was about whether members of Borough Council wanted to consider a prefabricated wall or one constructed on site. The difference in price was estimated to be about $100,000, with the prefabricated wall quoted to come in under budget by $25,000.
Members of council learned toward the prefabricated wall, but there were some questions about the longevity, warranty, and what type/color of brick or block would be used. The final determination will be made at a later date.
One thing brought up by Council member Bob Stokley was that the stadium isn’t used enough and should be open to the public more. He suggested that a walking path should be put in around the field.
