If you commute using Route 23/Conshohocken State Road through Lower Merion be aware that there will be milling and paving of the road starting August 25th that will close portions of the road Monday through Saturday through mid-September. Below is information from Lower Merion’s website:

Milling and paving operations on Conshohocken State Road, between Spring Mill Road and Hollow Road in Gladwyne, are scheduled to begin during daylight hours on Monday, August 25, 2014. Though large parts of the 3.3-mile stretch of roadway will be closed within the work zone areas, the Township’s Public Works Department will make every effort to minimize traffic impact, and the contractor will be urged to finish the work as expeditiously as possible. The operations will include Saturdays and could last through mid-September, depending on weather conditions.

Prominent detour signs and flagmen will direct motorists to other routes during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Non-residents are urged to seek alternative routes for the duration of the roadwork.

“Intense preparation for this important work has been underway since April, with our Public Works crews making sanitary sewer repairs, testing utility connections, ensuring storm inlets are clear of winter debris, and other groundwork,” said Ernie McNeely, Lower Merion Township Manager. “Especially after the winter that we had, there is no doubt this repaving project is badly needed, and after a temporary inconvenience, it will result in a much improved roadway condition.”
